Science & Business Park
We believe science development is essential for making our country part of the fully developed world. Scientific innovations and entrepreneurship can change our economy from a naturally driven to a knowledge based one with all the benefits that this transformation implies for our society.
In year 2006, the Chilean president Michelle Bachelet inaugurated a Science and Business Park established at Fundación Ciencia & Vida to welcome local and foreign scientific entrepreneurship. Since then, our Science and Business Park has grown and today is home of several companies, some of them being international companies or start-ups and some local innovations driven by our researchers.
Fundación Ciencia & Vida maintains an active Program, probably one of the most important in Chile, in the area of science-based innovation. Today, the Fundación participates in the creation and incubation of several technology companies some of which are described below. Some of them started in 2015 while others have been in our Park from previous years.
The Fundación participates in one or more of the following ways: a) providing space and services required by start-up companies; b) providing an international science and business environment; c) R&D collaborations d) guidance and connections required to obtain funding; e) guidance in intellectual property and technology transfer; and f) direct participation in the Board of Directors of the companies.
