Cristián Hernández-Cuevas

Cristian is known for his work at the intersection of science and business in Chile and Latin America. He has developed an inspiring career, both in Chile and in the United Kingdom. Cristian has created several companies and has worked as a consultant for different companies and investment funds. In the UK, he served as Business Development Manager at Danio Labs Ltd. in Cambridge, where he managed the company’s merger with Vastox to form Summit PLC, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange. He has led multiple scientific collaboration initiatives, such as Redbionova and the Encuentros Network. In 2008, he joined Fundación Ciencia & Vida as its Business Director and, in parallel, works at Andes Biotechnologies, as its Operations Director. He sits on the board of several Biotech Companies, lectures on science and business at the doctoral program in biotechnology of the Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello, and hosts the television show “Todo por la Ciencia” at Canal 13C (a Chilean cultural TV Channel). Cristián holds a Master’s Degree in BioScience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Molecular Biotechnology Engineering from the University of Chile
