Advanced Training
Preparing scientists for the future
One of the major goals of Fundación Ciencia & Vida is to train future generations of scientists in order to contribute to the development of the biological sciences. We participate in the training of undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, in collaboration with academia and biology-based industry. We aim at preparing scientists that can carry out independent biological research and capture the business derived from new scientific knowledge.
Doctoral Programs
In a close collaboration with Universidad San Sebastián through these programs, we foster a interdisciplinary research ecosystem that cultivates the acquisition of advanced knowledge and transferable skills. This environment empowers researchers to tackle emerging scientific challenges making meaningful contributions to the field.
Doctorate in Cell Biology and Biomedicine
The PhD program in Cell Biology and Biomedicine trains researchers capable of contributing to the knowledge about the normal and pathological functioning of the cell and apply this knowledge to understand and control diseases that require better treatments or lack of treatment.
Doctorate in Biotechnology and Bioentrepreneurship
The Doctoral Program in Biotechnology and Bioentrepreneurship is based on the fact that the technological revolution, and the demands of international competitiveness for productive companies, impose the need for a strong rapprochement between academia and the productive sector.
Doctorate in Immunology and Microbiology
The PhD program in Immunology and Microbiology will prepare you for a career in research and teaching in cutting-edge microbiology, virology or immunology. We aim to generate advances in human health and the environment in a multidisciplinary context, through powerful international collaborations and with state-of-the-art equipment.
Courses & Workshops
CCV offers hands-on courses and workshops that build technical depth and an innovation mindset.
8th Advanced Course on Tissue Immunity – Immune cells in development, homeostasis, aging and pathology 2026
8th Advanced Course on Tissue Immunity – Immune cells in development, homeostasis, aging and pathology is a 4-day program focused on the role of immune cells in tissue development, homeostasis, aging, and pathologies such as cancer. It includes lectures, poster sessions, workshops, and networking activities, offering Master’s, PhD students, and postdocs from Latin America the opportunity to engage with leading experts. Travel grants are available for selected participants.
Advanced Course: Bioinformatics Analysis of Spatial Biology Data
This five-day hands-on course is designed for PhD students, clinicians, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career researchers from Latin American institutions who wish to build a strong foundation in spatial biology and acquire the computational skills needed to analyze these data applied to immunology, cancer, and inflammation.
