Micaela Ricca, MSc, a specialist in laboratory animal science, was invited to the podcast "Ciencia Responsable: Conversaciones sobre Biomodelos" (Responsible Science: Conversations on Biomodels), an initiative of the University of Costa Rica that promotes learning, ethics and the responsible use of biomodels in scientific research.
The episode, entitled "Science before the experiment: the role of committees as pillars of responsible science", discussed the role of animal care and use committees, ethical and scientific review processes, and the importance of international standards to ensure high-quality, socially responsible research.
This participation strengthens international ties, promotes the dissemination of scientific knowledge and makes visible the practices behind rigorous, ethical and responsible research. It also brings topics that are fundamental to modern biomedical science and animal welfare closer to the academic community and the general public.
