On Wednesday, December 11, the annual meeting “Jóvenes Consciencia” was held, an event organized by the Outreach and Engagement Unit of the National Agency for Research and Development, which brought together scientists from the entire network of centers belonging to ANID.
Representing the Centro Basal Ciencia & Vida at USS, Ph.D. (c) researcher Camila Rojas and Dr. Alejandro Bernadin participated, belonging to the Microbial Ecophysiology Laboratory, led by Dr. Raquel Quatrini, and the Computational Biology Laboratory, directed by Dr. Tomás Pérez-Acle, respectively. The latter is also Vice President of Innovation and Development at Universidad San Sebastián and Director of the Basal Center.
Both researchers presented to their peers on the work they have carried out at the center; Rojas regarding the exploration of acidic microbiomes, and Bernardin concerning modeling and communication during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event organized by ANID, an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation, fosters collaboration among emerging researchers from #CentrosANID and seeks to have scientists reflect on the management, impact, and importance of open data in research through presentations, working tables, and interactive dynamics. Instances of this type promote interdisciplinarity and scientific partnership, essential components for addressing the challenges of modern science with comprehensive and innovative solutions.
