Summary

This Friday, October 30, we will hold the international symposium "Virology Symposium: Molecular Mechanisms, Host Immunity, and Global Impact", a day of scientific exchange that will address the molecular mechanisms of viral infections, the immune response, and its implications for global health.

The meeting will bring together specialists from Chile, Sweden, and the United States, who will share advances on hantavirus, influenza, HIV, and other viruses of relevance to human health. In addition, members of the Molecular Virology Laboratory of the Basal Center will participate, presenting research on various aspects of Andes virus biology.

The activity is organized by Dr. Nicole Tischler, principal investigator at Centro Ciencia & Vida (FCV-USS) and president of the International Society for Hantaviruses (ISH), as a prelude to the International Conference on Hantaviruses (ICH 2026), which will take place from November 2 to 5 in Puerto Varas, Chile.
