About this event
ImmunoConnect: A new platform in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease
Speaker: Valentina Ugalde, M.Sc.
Position: Co-founder and CEO of Immuno Connect; researcher at Centro Ciencia & Vida.
Centro Ciencia & Vida (FCV-USS) invites you to a new session of its Science & Life Seminars | Bioentrepreneurship cycle, featuring Valentina Ugalde, M.Sc., biochemist, researcher at Centro Ciencia & Vida, and co-founder and CEO of the biotechnology startup Immuno Connect.
During the talk titled "ImmunoConnect: A new platform in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease", the speaker will present the development of this scientific-technological spin-off, which emerged from research driven by the Neuroimmunology Laboratory at Centro Ciencia & Vida, led by Dr. Rodrigo Pacheco.
The presentation will address the startup's two innovation lines: NitraSyn Test, a technology under development aimed at detecting altered forms of the alpha-synuclein protein associated with Parkinson's disease, and CAR-PARK, an experimental cellular immunotherapy strategy that seeks to modulate immune responses linked to neurodegeneration.
Through this case, we will learn about the challenges and opportunities of transforming scientific knowledge into technologies with potential biomedical application, as well as the importance of technology transfer, collaboration, and bioentrepreneurship to advance from laboratory research toward future solutions for patients.
The activity is part of the #Bioentrepreneurship axis of the Science & Life Seminars, which promotes the intersection of science, innovation, and the development of technology-based companies.
Date: Thursday, October 29
Time: 09:30 - 10:30 hours
Location: Auditorium 1st floor, Av. El Cóndor 720, USS Ciudad Universitaria Campus, Huechuraba
